Key Verse

  • All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 AMP

Importance

  • I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. Psalm 138:2 NKJV
  • Every word of God is pure Proverbs 30:5 NKJV

  • I bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness; You have exalted Your name and Your word above all elsePsalm 138:2 BSB

  • Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver] Proverbs 30:5 AMP

Permanency

  • For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was proclaimed to you. 1 Peter 1:23-23 BSB

Understanding Scripture

  • They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while
He was talking with us on the road and opening the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32 AMP
  • Then He [thoroughly] opened up their minds to understand the Scriptures Luke 24:45 AMPC
Why unbelievers don’t understand scripture

  • The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life [providing eternal life]. John 6:63 AMP
  • But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. 1 Corinthians 2:14 AMP
  • Why do you misunderstand what I say? It is because you are unable to hear what I am saying. [You cannot bear to listen to My message; your ears are shut to My teaching.] You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. John 8:43-44 AMPC
GOD needs to open our mind to understand Scripture.
