Introduction

When God created man, He created them with three parts; spirit, soul and body.

  • Body, Mind & spirit: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV
  • Body & Soul: the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 KJV
  • Body & spirit: the dust [out of which God made man’s body] will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7 AMP

GOD's will that our Body, Soul and Spirit prosper

  • Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper1 and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2 KJV

Body

May perish while on earth

Will be transformed eventually

  • But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21 ESV
  • So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 ESV

  • body will rise: So it is with the resurrection of the dead. The [human] body that is sown is perishable and mortal, it is raised imperishable and immortal. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in strength; it is sown a natural body [mortal, suited to earth], it is raised a spiritual body [immortal, suited to heaven].
