Lord of breaking through/Master of breakthroughs

  • So [Israel] came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through]. 1 Chronicles 14:11 AMPC
  • So David came to Baal-perazim, and he defeated them there, and said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” So he named that place Baal-perazim (master of breakthroughs). 2 Samuel 5:20 AMP

1. Moses

  • Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. Exodus 3:1a NKJV
  • He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from within a bush. Moses saw the bush ablaze with fire, but it was not consumed. Exodus 3:1b-3 BSB
  • Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:10 ESV
At this point in time, Moses was 80 years old. Not retired and looking after someone else’s flock!

2. Mordacai

  • In those days, while Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate Esther 2:21 NASB
  • On that night the king could not sleep; and he ordered that the book of memorable deeds, the chronicles, be brought, and they were read before the king. Esther 6:1 AMPC
  • Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry; take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Leave out nothing that you have mentioned.” So Haman took the robes and the horse, and he dressed Mordecai and led him through the square of the city, proclaiming before him, “Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor.” Esther 6:10-11 ESV

3. Joseph
