Desired GOD’s Presence more than worldly riches.

David said, Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands. I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death. 1 Chronicles 22:5 AMPC

Now these are the last words of David: David son of Jesse says, and the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist¹ of Israel, says, The Spirit of the Lord spoke in and by me, and His word was upon my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:1-2 AMPC

Was a constant worshipper who wrote most of the Psalms.

For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was buried among his fathers … Acts 13:36 AMP
