We Often Hear But Don't Realise It's God

Samuel heard the Lord thrice but did not recognise it was Him speaking.

How Does God Speak?

1. Directly

    • For God does speak–now one way, now another— though man may not perceive it. Ask GOD to speak to you

When does GOD Speak?

1. During Quiet Time

  • David: In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will prepare [a prayer and a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart]. Psalm 5:3 AMP
  • Moses: Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it at a distance outside the camp. He called it the Tent of Meeting, and anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp. Then, whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would stand at the entrances to their own tents and watch Moses until he entered the tent. As Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and remain at the entrance, and the LORD would speak with MosesExodus 33:7-9 BSB

2. During Worship

  • While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said Acts 13:2 NIV

Position yourself to hear GOD's voice

Wait expectantly for GOD to speak
