Where does GOD Dwell?

1. Mountain of His Presence

  • And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 1 Kings 19:11 ESV
  • And Abraham named that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14 NASB
  • Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro (Reuel) his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb (Sinai), the mountain of GodExodus 3:1 AMP

2. Ark between the Cherubim

3. In The Secret Place

We can dwell in the Secret Place

  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 AMPC
  • The upright will dwell in Your presence. Psalm 140:13 NASB

4. Tent to Tent/Dwelling to Dwelling

  • I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought Israel up [from Egypt] until this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another1 Chronicles 17:5 AMP
GOD’s Presence can be mighty in a physical home.

5. With Man

  • For the high and exalted One He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this, “I dwell on the high and holy place, But also with the contrite and humble in spirit In order to revive the spirit of the humble And to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin]. Isaiah 57:15 AMP
  • All these things my hand has made and these are all mine, says LORD JEHOVAH. And in whom shall I look and shall I dwell, except in the quiet one and in the humble of spirit who trembles from my word?  Isaiah 66:2 AB
