Lingered in God's Presence

  • Thus the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun would not leave the tent. Exodus 33:11 BSB

Believed and trusted in God

  • Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes and said to the whole congregation of Israel, “The land we passed through and explored is an exceedingly good land. If the LORD delights in us, He will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and He will give it to us.Only do not rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the land, for they will be like bread for us. Their protection has been removed, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them!” Numbers 14:6 BSB

Instructed to Meditate on & obey Scripture

  • This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
    Joshua 1:8 NKJV

Parting message to Israelites

  • Be very determined, then, to keep and do everything that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, so that you will not turn aside from it to the right or to the left Joshua 23:6 NASB

COMMENT: This was exactly what God told him at the start of his leadership. Having found it to be true, he conveyed the same to the Israelites.
