COMMENT: God promises a reward for seeking Him

Greatest reward for seekers

  • After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.Gen 15:1 NKJV

COMMENT: What is the greatest reward you can get from God? God himself i.e. His Presence

God is  looking for those who seek Him

  • The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who act wisely, who seek God. Psalms 14:2 NKJV/NASB
  • God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone who acts wisely, Who seeks after God. Psalms 53:2 NASB
  • Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. Ps 105:4 AMP

COMMENTS:

  1. “looks down” is in present continuous – meaning He is currently looking i.e. even right now.
  2. God considers those wise, who seek Him.
  3. God is asking asking us to seek Him continuously.

Not seeking God is considered evil

  • He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek and worship and honor the LORD. 2 Chr 12:14 AMP

The heart cry of those who seek God

  • My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalms 84:2 NKJV
  • As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. Ps 42:1 NKJV
