  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 AMPC

Notes

1. Dwell

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines dwell as “to live as a resident/where the heart of the matter dwells/to keep the attention directed”. In this context of this verse, our objective is to make God our dwelling place e.g. by turning our focus back to God every so often. See

  • Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. Colossians 3:2 AMP

2. Secret place of the Most High

  • But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6 NKJV

Other versions

  • But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:6 AMP
