Key Verses

God urges us to seek His Presence as our greatest need & continually.

Happenings in GOD's Presence

1. Deliverance

  • Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the saving acts of His Presence. Psalm 42:5 NASB
  • In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old. Isaiah 63:9 NKJV

2. Protection

  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 AMPC

3. Answers

  • One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. Psalm 27:4 NKJV

4. GOD Speaks

  • Then Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. The glory and brilliance of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day God called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. Exodus 24:15-16 AMP
  • Then the LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD. Behold, the LORD is about to pass by.” … And after the fire came a still, small voice. 1 Kings 19:11-12 BSB

5. Blessings

  • the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that he had. 1 Chronicles 13:14 AMP
  • For You meet him with blessings of good things Psalm 21:3 AMP
Normally, one takes gifts to give when going to meet someone important. On the contrary, when GOD meets us, He gives us blessings.

6. Joy

Joy = blithesomeness or {glee} : – exceeding {gladness}

7. Life & Acceleration

  • Then you shall place them in the tabernacle of meeting before the Testimony, where I meet with you. And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose will blossom … Now on the next day Moses went into the Tent of the Testimony, and the rod of Aaron of the tribe of Levi had sprouted and put out buds and produced blossoms and yielded [ripe] almonds. Numbers 17:4-5 NKJV & 17:8 AMP

8. Instruction

  • Now the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the Law and the commandments which I have written for their instruction.” Exodus 24:12 NASB 
  • It came about at the end of forty days and nights that the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant. Deuteronomy 9:11 NASB

9. Favour

  • For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! Psalm 84:10-11 AMPC
  • Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the LORD… Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the LORD and also with man. 1 Samuel 2:21 BSB & 2:26 ESV

Insights

1. Experience GOD's Presence

Search = specifically to worship
Find = to come forth {to} that {is} appear
In other words, when one worships God with all their heart, God’s Presence appears i.e. one has an Encounter with God.

2. Constantly in GOD's Presence

  • The upright will dwell in Your presence. Psalm 140:13 NASB
  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 AMPC

Examples

  • Abraham: When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]. Genesis 17:1 AMP
  • But he said to me, ‘The LORD, before whom I walk, will send His angel
    with you and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son from
    my family and from my father’s house. Genesis 24:40 NKJV
  • Samuel: Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the LORD. 1 Samuel 2:21 BSB
  • the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD where the ark of God was 1 Samuel 3:3 NASB

  • Then Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said: “O LORD God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. 2 Kings 19:15 NKJV
  • Then the [Shekinah] glory and brilliance of the God of Israel (the cloud) went up from the cherubim on which it had rested, to [stand above] the threshold of the [LORD’S] temple. Ezekiel 9:3 AMP 

3. Linger in GOD's Presence

  • And so the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his attendant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. Exodus 33:11 AMP
  • Do not be in a hurry to leave the king’s presence. Ecclesiastes 8:3 NIV

4. Seekers of GOD's Presence

  • Joshua: Thus the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun would not leave the tent. Exodus 33:11 BSB
  • David: When You said, “Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I will seek [on the authority of Your word].” Psalm 27:8 AMP

5. Carriers of GOD's Presence

  • Jesus answered, “If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him. John 14:23 AMP
  • In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you4 yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit. Ephesians 2:22 AMPC

  • Jesus: And He was transfigured before them and became resplendent with divine brightness. Mark 9:2 AMPC
  • And immediately all the crowd, when they saw Jesus [returning from the holy mount, His face and person yet glistening], they were greatly amazed and ran up to Him [and] greeted Him. Mark 9:15 AMPC
  • Moses: He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 NKJV
  • And it came about, when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him. Exodus 34:29 NASB
  • Now if the dispensation of death engraved in letters on stone [the ministration of the Law], was inaugurated with such glory and splendor that the Israelites were not able to look steadily at the face of Moses because of its brilliance, [a glory] that was to fade and pass away, Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit [this spiritual ministry whose task it is to cause men to obtain and be governed by the Holy Spirit] be attended with much greater and more splendid glory? 2 Corinthians 3:7-8 AMPC
  • Believers: And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC

6. Don't let GOD's Presence leave you

  • Saul: Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented and terrified him. 1 Samuel 16:14 AMP
  • Hezekiah: Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:31 NASB
  • David: Cast me not away from Thy Presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Psalm 51:11 KJV

7. Don't leave GOD's Presence

  • Cain: So Cain went away from the [manifested] presence of the LORD, and lived in the land of Nod [wandering in exile], east of Eden. Genesis 4:16 AMP
  • Jonah: But Jonah ran away to Tarshish to escape from the presence of the LORD [and his duty as His prophet]. Jonah 1:3 AMP
