Characteristics

1. Fasting & Prayer

  • And he was unable to see for three days, and he neither ate nor drankNow in Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he answered, “Here I am, Lord.” And the Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul; for he is praying [there] Acts 9:9-11 AMP

2. Evangelism

  • And immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “This Man is the Son of God [the promised Messiah]!” Acts 9:20 AMP

3. Tongues

Implying that he was speaking in Tongues all the time. Possibly the secret of Paul’s spirituality and fruitfulness. If GOD uses others more than you, could it not be that they did something more than you that caught His attention?

4. Hard Worker

  • But by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not without effect. In fact, I worked harder than all of the apostles, though it was not I, but the grace of God [His unmerited favor and blessing which was] with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 AMP

5. Work + Ministry

  • because he was of the same trade he stayed with them, and they worked together, for they were tent-makers by trade. Acts 18:3 NASB 
In spite of being one of the greatest Apostles, Paul choose to do ministry and secular work simultaneously

6. Instant Obedience to God

  • And instantly something like scales fell from [Saul’s] eyes, and he recovered his sight. Then he arose and was baptized, And after he took some food, he was strengthened. Acts 9:18-19 AMPC

7. Completed Course

  • But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:5-8 BSB
