The first step
- since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ Romans 5:1 NIV
COMMENT: The first step in our having Peace is making Peace with God. Click HERE
Promises of Peace
- Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] John 14:27 AMP
- The Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalms 29:11 NASB
- The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually). Numbers 6:26 AMP
Those who experienced Peace
- Solomon: But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. 1 Kings 5:4 NKJV
Peace an umpire
- let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. Col 3:15 AMPC
COMMENT: An umpire is especially important when when there is a foul e.g. in a match. Likewise if you lose peace in a decision or plan, question it to see whether you should proceed. On the contrary you cant’t do something unbiblical and say you have peace about it e.g. yoking yourself with an unbeliever. See HERE
What we can do
- You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Isa 26:3 NKJV
