  • Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord isEphesians 5:17 NKJV
  • Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. Romans 12:1-2 AMP

Knowing GOD's Will

1. Spending time with GOD

  • Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, so that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.” So Moses set out with Joshua his attendant and went up on the mountain of God. When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered it, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud. Moses entered the cloud as he went up on the mountain, and he remained on the mountain forty days and forty nightsThen the LORD said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him. And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them. Settling for less than GOD's Will

  • Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had very large herds of cattle, and they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead [on the east side of the Jordan River], and indeed, the place was suitable for raising livestock … They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us across the Jordan [River].” Numbers 32:1,5 AMP

GOD’s Will = His best for us. GOD’s plan/promise/will for the Israelites was the land of Canaan (Exodus 6:4) across the Jordan (Deuteronomy 11:31) a land flowing with Milk and Honey (Exodus 3:8) where one cluster of grapes had to be carried between two people on a pole! (Numbers 13:23). However, seeing a land on the way that was suitable for livestock, some Israelites chose that over GOD’s will!
